Parry Sound gets the green light for funding for Stockey Centre repairs

The Town of Parry Sound’s hopes to obtain funding assistance to offset some of the $1.4 million cost for roof and siding repairs at the Stockey Centre / Bobby Orr Hall of Fame has become a reality.

At Tuesday night’s council meeting Parry Sound Council officially entered into an agreement for funding in the amount of $580,000.

This leaves the Town’s share at just over $830,000.

Issues with the roof and siding go back to the construction of the Centre when constraints demanded that shingles be used instead of the originally planned steel roof.

The Town has hired W.S. Morgan Construction to complete the job and work is underway.
