Parry Sound council is requesting to be kept in the loop as the government works to relocate the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) offices at 7 Bay Street.

A resolution, set to be tabled at council tonight, asks the Minister of Infrastructure to include the town as it works through vacating and selling the 5.4-acre waterfront property.

Mayor Jamie McGarvey says the town wants to be involved, so that it can help ensure the future use of the property achieves the community’s vision.

On April 19, MPP Graydon Smith announced the MNRF would be relocated in order to open up the Parry Sound waterfront to new opportunities.
