Park revitalization project moving on to William Street Park

The Town of Parry Sound’s playground replacement program is shifting to William Street Park, as the Waubuno Beach overhaul nears completion.

Staff say there will be intermittent closures on June 7 at William Street park, as sand is moved and the site is prepared.

According to staff, the park will be closed for two weeks, starting June 10, while playground equipment is removed and replaced.

Staff will then move in succession to Cherry Street, Booth Street and Mission Park, before finishing off with the Waterfront Trail workout station.

Officials say the playground replacement project will cost $749,800. However, the town will be receiving $500 thousand dollars in funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Corporation. The difference will be covered with funds allocated in the 2024 capital budget.
