McDougall council concerned about speeding on George Hunt Memorial Drive

The Municipality of McDougall is concerned about speeding on George Hunt Memorial Drive.

A report presented to council last week provided results of a recent speed count.

Officials say, from May 19 to 25th, 1423 vehicles were clocked travelling down the road toward the golf course. Of those 65% were travelling more than the posted 40 km/hr speed limit, and 20% were going 11 km/hr or more over that limit.

Councillor JJ Blower said she will take the report to the next police services board meeting and make the West Parry Sound OPP aware of the municipality’s concerns.
