Police are trying to rescue a pilot from a plane that crashed into a lake in Whitestone Township earlier this morning. West Parry Sound OPP got a call just before 8:00am about a 185 Cessna airplane that tried to land on Taylor Lake and flipped over. Officers with the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, West Parry Sound Detachment Marine Unit along with members of the Whitestone Fire Department and Paramedics are currently on-scene as they believe the male pilot is still inside the plane underwater. The investigation is ongoing and we’ll have more information once it becomes available.
