The West Parry Sound Health Centre is facing a $2.2 million deficit. And hospital board chairman Terry Fraser says staff are working on how to cut expenses. One area departments are looking at is how to save on labour since that makes up 75 percent of the operating budget. On the plus side, the hospital has saved money by buying supplies through a purchasing group which gets cheaper rates as a result of bulk purchases. And the facility changed its light bulbs which saves a few dollars on electricity.
