WPSHC gets $20,000 RBC donation for mental health support

The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation got a $20,000 boost from the Royal Bank of Canada earlier this month.

Hospital officials say the money will be earmarked to support local access to mental health services through the Health Centre.

Donald Sanderson, CEO of the West Parry Sound Health Centre, thanked the RBC team for their generous support.

“The impacts of struggling with mental health issues will touch every member of our community at some point in their lives, whether it is personally or through assisting a loved one. We are grateful that RBC recognizes the importance of supporting local access to these important services,” he said.

Officials say the funds donated by RBC Parry Sound will ensure the longevity of projects like the Mental Health Hub launched earlier this year.

The hub houses a variety of programs that interconnect the hospital with community and social services as well as the primary care sector.
