Power outages are affecting over several thousand people in cottage country today after yesterday’s severe weather.
Parry Sound and the Muskoka regions were affected by severe thunderstorms and were under a tornado warning early yesterday evening. Rain continued later on into the evening.
Strong winds, hail, and downed trees were reported throughout Parry Sound and Muskoka.
Parry Sound, Burk’s Falls, Bracebridge and surrounding areas are missing power in pockets, but areas around Huntsville were hit the hardest.
Hydro One is in affected areas and the latest estimated time of restoration is 10:00 pm tonight.
