Flu shots courtesy of the North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit become available this week. First in our area to offer the free vaccine is McKellar Township at the community centre from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. On November 14th, flu shots are available at the Magnetawan Friendship Centre from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. The public can also make an appointment with the health unit office in Parry Sound to get the vaccine on site. You can do that by calling the local office at 746-5801. The health unit says although everyone should get vaccinated it stresses people in high risk groups who have chronic issues should get the shot. It adds seniors, First Nation, healthy pregnant women, nursing home residents and kids aged six months to five years should get the flu shot.
