Insect workshop being offered next spring

There’s a workshop next spring to increase public awareness about the importance of Mason Bees and Monarch Butterflies.  Both insects are pollinators and the workshop deals with how things like food production are affected by changes in the insect world.  For example, the milkweed plant is the Monarch’s natural habitat, but as more of the plant gets wiped out through urbanization, the more the butterfly is threatened.  The workshop is free and to register, call Canadore College at 746-9222.
