Highway 141 travellers can rejoice. The Ministry of Transportation is putting in a temporary fix to the Rosseau Bridge. Regional Issues and Media Advisor Gord Rennie says that MTO hopes to have a temporary bridge set up by the end of September.
However that means the fix for the Rosseau Bridge will take longer.
Rennie says the bridge has serious erosion issues in the footing.
The highway was closed after it was found the Rosseau Lake Bridge couldn’t safely handle regular traffic. There is now no timeline on when the main bridge will be fixed. Until then the Ministry is using Muskoka Road 3 as a temporary detour to Rosseau from Highway 11.
