Ongoing construction work on Wood and Isabella streets, from Marion to Winnifred Ave, may finally be completed this summer.
At a special meeting on June 30, council approved a $3 million bid from Weeks Construction to complete the remainder of the project.
According to officials, the original contract for the work was awarded to Advanced Excavation and General Contracting in April, 2025. The project was expected to be completed in August.
In October, after several snags, the Town suspended that contractors ability to work on the project and brought in Weeks Construction to prepare the site for winter. Officials say, in addition to serving as the Town’s emergency contractor, Weeks was also the next lowest bidder for the work.
Additional funds required for the project will be covered by a combination of grants and reserves.
