Timeline around new Parry Sound JK-12 school remains unknown

Exactly when Parry Sound’s new JK-12 school will be completed still remains unknown.

During a meeting on Oct. 14, Near North District School Board Director of Education Craig Myles said although the occupancy date is not confirmed, progress is being made in construction, safety compliance and regulatory approvals.

A report, dated Oct. 14, states that officials are working towards obtaining an occupancy permit, and that inspections will be scheduled over the coming weeks with officials from the local health unit and fire department.

Board officials say a detailed transition timeline will be communicated to staff, students and families, once confirmed.
