The Parry Sound Area Industrial Park Board has announced that they along with the West Parry Sound SMART Board have negotiated a partnership with Vianet to bring high speed broadband to the Industrial park and surrounding areas.
This broadband project will provide much needed high-speed internet to the industries within the industrial park as well as enable fixed wireless service to approximately 400 properties within Carling, McDougall, Whitestone and Shawanaga First Nation.
Late in 2019, SMART championed the first stage of wireless broadband in Carling. The industrial park tower will expand on the CENGN pilot in Carling.
It is Vianet’s goal to have the tower construction needed completed prior to winter with service available to businesses and homes before the end of 2020.
