Tim Horton’s Roll Up The Rim ‘technical error’ disappoints Parry Sound woman

A Parry Sound woman says she is one of the many who thought they had won a brand-new boat by Rolling up the Rim.

Corrie Armstrong said Tim Hortons emailed her on April 17 recapping the prizes she had won throughout the contest. It also congratulated her on winning a 2024 Tracker Targa boat and trailer, worth an estimated $55,000.

Armstrong says she drove to the Tim Horton’s by the Parry Sound mall, showed the manager and was told it ‘looked legitimate’. She adds she excitedly contacted Tim Horton’s, and hours later, was disappointed to hear the prize notification was a ‘technical error.’

The franchise confirmed “human error” resulted in a number of customers receiving incorrect prize notifications in recap emails.

“We developed a Roll Up To Win recap email message with the best intentions of giving our guests a fun overview of their 2024 play history,” stated a Tim Horton’s spokesperson in an email to Moose FM. “Unfortunately, there was a human error that resulted in some guests receiving some incorrect information in their recap message.”

The franchise emailed out a letter to all customers impacted by the error to explain the situation.

“We apologize for the frustration this has caused and for not living up to our high standards of providing an exceptional guest experience,” stated the letter.
