A Hamilton man is facing charges are operating a boat while under the influence.
On Wednesday, West Parry Sound OPP’s Marine Unit was patrolling the Magnetawan River in Wallbridge Township, north of Parry Sound.
Around 8:00 p.m., officers conducted a vessel check, and after speaking with the driver, they concluded that alcohol had been consumed.
The man was arrested and taken to the local detachment for further testing.
As a result, a 58-year-old man is facing charges for driving while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of plus 80, operating a pleasure craft with an inaccurate name and address on their license and for operating a boat with an open container of liquor.
He will be before a judge at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 6.
