Multiple Whitestone roads closed because of water

Parts of five roads in Whitestone Township are closed because of excess water.  The West Parry Sound OPP is advising drivers to use caution when travelling on roadways in Whitestone due to standing water on the roadway.  Roads that are temporarily closed are the Bunny Trail, Balsam Road, Wawashkesh Road, the intersection of Dobson Road and Farley Road and the intersection of Thomson Glen and Quinn Road.  Police say motorists should reduce their speeds as standing water may cause a vehicle to hydroplane and may also cause large amounts of water to be splashed onto the windshields of oncoming vehicles, obstructing their view.  Road Crews are working to rectify the situation and roadways will be reopened as soon as the conditions improve.  Motorists who are seeking road condition updates in the Municipality of Whitestone are asked to contact the municipality at 705-389-2466.
