Significant snowfall on the way for Wednesday and Thursday

The arrival time has been delayed from original timing, but snow is on the way.

In a special weather statement Environment Canada says the Parry Sound region can expect heavy snow with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm possible late Wednesday through early Thursday.

Snow is expected to begin Wednesday afternoon east of Georgian Bay and then spread northward throughout the day. Heavy snow is expected Wednesday night before tapering to flurries during the day Thursday.

Meanwhile a snowfall warning is in place for Burk’s Falls – Bayfield Inlet with the heavy snow (15-25 cm) expected to arrive early Wednesday morning before tapering to flurries Thursday morning.

Motorists should be prepared for poor winter driving conditions due to low visibilities in heavy snow and quickly accumulating snow.
