Aitchison names former rival as campaign chair

BRACEBRIDGE, ON – It was an interesting announcement from the Scott Aitchison campaign camp yesterday.

The federal Conservative party candidate for Parry Sound-Muskoka has confirmed that former nominee rival Holly Thompson will be his campaign chair.

During the run-up to the nomination confirmation, Thompson was quite vocal about the way Aitchison had organized meet and greet events for all candidates.

Aitchinson said in a statement that he valued Thompson’s approach to her campaign and the party in general as a reason to have her on the team.

“Holly’s enthusiasm, ideas, organizing skills and strong conservative values make her an invaluable addition to our campaign team,” said Aitchison. “With her offer to join our campaign, she is helping to ensure unity among Conservative party members in Parry Sound- Muskoka with the sole aim of winning the coming election.”

The Aitchison campaign will be opening its office with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday afternoon at 5:30pm. It is located at 193 Manitoba Street in Bracebridge.

Aitchison will continue his duties as Mayor of Huntsville until the writ for the election drops later this year.
