Teenager facing six charges in Parry Sound pullover

PARRY SOUND, ON – A teen driver is facing six charges after being pulled over by the West Parry Sound OPP.
It happened last night around 9:00pm. Police received a traffic complaint advising of a possible impaired driver on Highway 400. The vehicle was located on Forest Street in Parry Sound.
Upon speaking to the driver police entered into an impaired driving investigation. They determined the 19-year-old man was under the influence of drugs and was transported to the West Parry Sound detachment where further testing took place.
The police also found what was believed to be cocaine in his possession.
The Oro-Medonte man has been charged with driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, resisting an officer, possession of a schedule 1 substance, driving with cannabis readily available, driving while under suspension, and also for being a novice driver with the presence of a drug.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on September 5, 2019.
