Trestle Brewery looking for re-zoning to allow patio

PARRY SOUND, ON- In business for just over a year, Trestle Brewery on Great North Road is looking to add to what they offer their clientele.

The brewery is hoping to have the town re-zone the property so that it can reduce by 25 the number of parking spots so that they can add a patio.

At the July 2nd council meeting, there were two points of view expressed to council.

In her deposition, Vivian Ibey who lives across from Trestle on Great North Road expressed her concerns to the requested change.

She opposes the change as in her mind the brewery doesn’t have enough parking spaces as it is and questions whether there would be enough spaces in the future for both the brewery and parking for the fitness trail.

A letter received by the Town from Diane Waters of Greta North Road supports the change as she feels that Trestle has been an asset to the town and their outreach program and fundraising efforts have been a benefit.

The town will allow others with points of view on the topic to contact them and that the issue will come to a vote at a future council meeting.
