Parry Sound OPP find drugs on impaired driver

McDOUGALL TOWNSHIP, ON – Police are reminding the public to stay sober after they charged an impaired driver on Bunny Trail over the long weekend.

West Parry Sound OPP said in a release that they were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on June 29 and stopped a driver at roughly 10:30 p.m.

Officers believed a 21-year-old male from Barrie had been drinking alcohol so he was taken to the station for more testing. Police added a search of the man found suspected cocaine.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 15 to face impaired driving and drug possession charges.

Officers remind drivers that impaired driving is impaired driving, no matter if it is by drugs or alcohol.
