Study looking at Wasauksing Swing Bridge replacement options

A study is underway looking for the best solution for a replacement for the Wasauksing Swing Bridge.

The bridge is an important transportation link for the Wasauksing First Nation. Originally built in 1895, it crosses the water at Rose Point Road and is the community’s only road access to the mainland.

Mooney Metaxas Engineering Inc. has been hired for the study.

It’s going to examine existing information on the bridge, figure out what needs to updated, come up with concepts for replacing the existing bridge, evaluate those options, and finally recommend a solution for design and construction. The study is expected to finish this year.

You can get updates on the study as it progresses, and share your thoughts on it, at this website.
