Pedaling for Parkinson’s has changed their venue for the fundraiser but says they ended on a high note with their last ride in Parry Sound.
The Pedaling for Parkinson’s initiative started in 2011 and has raised over $1.7 million dollars for Parkinson’s research to date.
Istvan says 2018 was the final year of the ride in Parry Sound and recalls the incredible spirit of the Parry Sound ride that was built on a strong community of support, fundraising success and commitment to stand together in mutual support of one’s Parkinson journey lives on in communities across the country.
He says the 2018 ride raised almost $700,000 which exceeded their $500,000 goal.
“We wanted to leave Parry Sound on a positive note and we’re happy we achieved that,” Istvan said.
Locals can still join the ride in Prince Edward County or through a virtual ride during the July 12th to the 14th campaign. You can find more information here.Â
