The West Parry Sound OPP has completed their annual Festive R.I.D.E. campaign and the results are in.
Officers conducted 192 hours of R.I.D.E. checks. The campaign started on November 23rd and ended on January 2nd.
During this year’s campaign, officers issued two impaired by alcohol charges and two three-day suspensions from roadside tests.
Additionally, 25 Highway Traffic Act charges were issued including five seatbelt charges, four drive while suspended charges, two drive while disqualified charges, two Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charges, seven substance charges, and three criminal code charges.
The OPP says it will continue the R.I.D.E. spot checks throughout the year. All drivers are reminded to drive safe and stay sober.
