Town in search of council volunteers

A list of volunteer roles that need to be filled by Town Council.

The Town of Parry Sound runs on volunteer services and the municipal office is no different.

With the investiture of the new council on December 11th, appointments of council volunteers for various boards and committees are being considered now. The end of the current council volunteer appointments ended on November 30th.

“We put the word out that we’re interested in receiving applications or letters of interest from people who have an interest in the area, or even better, experience, but it’s not absolutely necessary. We go through applications and council makes the appointment to a committee of council or a board of council,” Jackie Boggs, Town Clerk. “We’re always looking for volunteers but especially this time of year when we’re bringing in a new council.”

“We’re always counting on the generosity of Parry Sound citizens. We are appreciative and we hope there are some citizens that wish to participate in the council process,” Boggs added.

The deadline for applications is December 7th and will be finalized at the December 18th council meeting.  A majority of volunteers will begin working in their designated committee role by January.

Should you be interested in volunteering with the Town Council, contact Jackie Boggs, Clerk at 705-746-2101 X224 or by email at [email protected].
