Municipal parking passes available to the public

Parry Sound Parking Permits will be available to the public beginning next Monday.

Allison Kreuger, a by-law officer with the Town of Parry Sound said that a limited number of passes are available.

There are eight passes available for the Gibson lot, six for the James Street lot, a dozen for the St. Andrews Lot and eight for the Miller Street lot.

These passes allow an exemption from the daytime four-hour limit from Monday to Saturday though pass holders are required to park in their designated lot. These passes do not permit overnight parking.

The James Street and Miller Street lots have designated parking spaces, while the lots are first come, first served.

Accessible parking permits are still only available at Service Ontario and some municipal lots do have accessible parking spots. The Gibson and St. Andrews lots do not have accessible parking.

“We want people to use them and it’s an option if the public needs full day parking so that they’re not violating the two or four-hour limit,” Kreuger said.

Monthly permits are available for a fee of $30.00/month and can be picked up at the municipal office at 52 Seguin Street.
