Parry Sound Hosting Youth Robotics Event

If you love LEGO – get excited. It’s the first event of it’s kind,  the Fall 2018 Robotics Open in Parry Sound.

The Robotics Open will be held at the Bobby Orr Centre on November 10th and was created to inspire, recruit, showcase, highlight and welcome the community of Parry Sound officially to Robotics.

The Robotics Open is hosting an event to inspire youth to gain an interest in robotics.

The event will allow a series of robotics teams to be formed so that robotics champions can compete at future events that will be held in this region twice a year.

Parry Sound’s robotics team, coordinator, Nicole Saulnier, and her husband have formed a team in the FIRST Lego League, called Bots by the Bay.  The team has been learning programming and coding in its rookie season, and they are having a lot of fun along the way.  She says they are working towards competing at their first tournament in Huntsville on December 1st.

While this team says they’re full, they would like to invite more children wanting to get involved, and offer the concept of robotics to the community.  The event is organized by the not-for-profit Inspiretech Canada.

This event is designed to introduce the community to the concept of Robotics and to inspire children, and adults to become involved in robotics.

All of this is volunteer-driven, and you can find more details about the upcoming event by clicking here.
