Moose FM Radiothon raises more than $42,000 for West Parry Sound Health Centre

The last tabulations are complete and the final figure is in.

The people of the Parry Sound area and cottagers donated $42,872 to the recent Moose FM Radiothon in support of the West Parry Sound Health Centre. The health centre needed a number of items in preparation for the hospital’s implementation of the Electronic Health Records system.

Those items included workstations of wheels, a patient info display and three tablets allowing staff to quickly attend bedside and keep information current. The total needed for these items was just over $33,000. With listeners to Moose FM responding in a big way during the recent radiothon the Hospital Foundation was able to purchase all the items and add an extra one to the list.

The total raised was the second largest in the nine years of the radiothon, eclipsed only by 2016 when just over $70,000 was raised. That year a Toronto family matched funds raised dollar-for-dollar doubling the local total from roughly $35,000.
