Seguin decides on Main Street Revitalization funding split

Seguin council made a decision at last night’s meeting on how to allocate funding from the Main Street Revitalization project. Seguin Manager of Community Services, Dominique O’Brien says the initiative will promote local businesses and make Seguin more attractive to cottagers.

Council decided that 50 per cent of the money will be given to Rosseau. O’Brien says Rosseau will use the money to try to get an Ontario-by-bike business designation:

The other 50 per cent will be split between Humphrey, Orrville and Foley. Orrville is asking for better lighting and additional bicycle racks, as it is becoming more popular for cyclists. Humphrey is asking for funding to better light the “Welcome To Humphrey” sign and Foley has asked for additional picnic tables. O’Brien says these upgrades make a big difference:

The Main Street Revitalization project gave $41,453 to Seguin Township.
