Policing students rucking to raise money for retreat for victims of PTSD

A group of Georgian College policing students is trekking from Hamilton to Parry Sound.  The event is called Ruck to Remember and is a seven day, 300km trek.  Rucking is walking a distance with a weighted pack on one’s back – in this case the weights are 50 pounds of bricks, each engraved with the names of 158 fallen Canadian soldiers.  The event will raise money to build a retreat in Northern Ontario for veterans and first responders struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder.  The ruck will start in Hamilton on July 20th and end in Parry Sound on July 28th.  To donate or become a sponsor, visit the team site at www.eventbrite.ca/e/road-to-recovery-tickets-11833140241.
