Mary Street Centre re-brand looks to offer more inclusiveness to Parry Sound residents

St. James Church in Parry Sound is rebranding its community centre.

Formerly named the St. James Centre for Community, church officials hope changing the name to Mary Street Centre will attract a wider range of interested community organizations to use the building. Program Director Lynda Marshall says they want to public to know it isn’t strictly meant for religious events.

Marshall says they want to provide more opportunities for locals to get out and experience new opportunities in Parry Sound.

Last year, the church received a $45,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant last year to help rebrand and find new uses for the community centre.

An open house will be held on April 28th from two to four to show off the new space. Parry Sound Muskoka MPP Norm Miller will be attending to congratulate the church on its successful application for the grant.
