It has been a long time coming but the reconstruction of Waubeek and Prospect Street reconstruction will move ahead.
Tuesday night Town Council approved awarding a tender to Weeks Construction for the job with a cost of just over $5.1 million.
It was the lowest bid made for the job.
When asked when the project would start Director of Public Works, Peter Brown stated that at the present time frost in the ground prevents an immediate start but that he hopes to meet with engineers and the contractor in the coming days to discuss a possible start date and how to ease the traffic situation on one of the town’s busiest summer routes.
