The Stockey Centre roof will be getting the first stage of repairs this year. Last night, Council approved the tender for phase one of the remedial repairs in the amount of over $152,000 plus HST. Director of Development and Leisure Service, Lynn Middaugh advised council that there is no warranty on the work being done and that it will take 2-3 months to complete. Middaugh says the work will get started early this fall to avoid the work interfering with the busy summer season, but Councillor Paul Borneman noted that he hopes it starts as soon as possible to avoid the project running into the winter. Councillor Bonnie Keith says she hopes that there will be regular inspections to ensure that the job is getting done properly to avoid any further costs.
