Be mindful of pets in parked cars as temperatures begin to rise

With temperatures beginning to rise, we all must be mindful of how hot our parked cars can get.  The Parry Sound By-Law Department wants anyone who sees a dog left alone in a hot car to take down the car’s color, model, make, and license plate number and have the owner paged in the nearest building or call the OSPCA or police.  The temperature in a parked car, even in the shade with the windows partly open, can rapidly reach a level that will seriously harm or even kill your pet. Below is a chart from veterinary clinics regarding how fast a car’s temperature can rise.
