Speed up your volunteer background check with West Parry Sound OPP

Police in Parry Sound want to help speed up background checks for volunteers.

On Tuesday and Thursday, the West Parry Sound OPP will hold a vulnerable sector check clinic between 4pm and 8pm. These checks are required for volunteers working with vulnerable people including children, someone with a disability and the elderly. The checks can sometimes take a few weeks to come back, but you could get the background check done right away with these clinics. Officials say you will need a letter asking for the check from the organization you’re volunteering with and two pieces of ID. You can find out which pieces of ID are accepted here.

Anyone who hasn’t lived in Parry Sound for at least five years or needing to give fingerprints may not get a response right away. If you have any questions about these clinics you can call the West Parry Sound OPP detachment at 705-746-4225.
