A McMurrich/Monteith man faces a slew of charges after being stopped at a R.I.D.E. check. Almaguin Highlands OPP was conducting a R.I.D.E. stop on Bay Lake Road in Perry Township in the afternoon on Saturday, April 26th. Around 4:00pm a pickup truck approached the officers and after a conversation, the 41-year-old driver was arrested for drinking and driving. The man was taken back to the detachment where he was charged with having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, driving without insurance, possession of unmarked cigarettes, and several highway traffic act offences. He was released and will appear in court in Sundridge later this month.
