Seguin Mayor not running for fourth term

Seguin will have a new Mayor this fall.  Current Seguin Mayor David Conn has announced that he will not be running for Mayor for a fourth term.  In a letter to this station, he says it’s been an honour and privilege to serve as Seguin’s Mayor for 11 years and feels that he has delivered on his commitments to residents.  Conn says he’s proud of what has been accomplished in Seguin during his tenure including positioning Seguin as the Natural Place to Be, an “environment first” municipality and returning Seguin to a position of financial health with no debt, a good level of reserves, and one of the lowest tax rates of  any  municipality in Ontario.  He’s also proud to have ivested over $34 million in infrastructure with the help of government grants and added many new companies to Seguin through the Airport Industrial Park.  He says it’s been an honour and privilege to have had the opportunity to serve as the Mayor of Seguin and believes it’s now time to let new leadership step forward.  He concludes by saying he’s extremely grateful for the kind support he’s received from the residents of Seguin during my time as Mayor and says the continued support from his family, especially his wife Joan, cannot be sufficiently expressed in words.
