William Beatty School is closed today. The power authority has indicated that the main electrical feed from the pole transformer into the school must be replaced. Students were safely evacuated to Parry Sound High School yesterday after sparks were seen coming from the transformer outside of the school and smoke was detected inside. No one was injured and the fire department found no fire. The Near North District School Board believes students will return to school on Monday.
