Childrens Aid Society returns to bargaining table

The Children’s Aid Society of Parry Sound and Nipissing is heading back to the bargaining table.
CUPE representatives for the locked out CAS workers will continue negotiations to end a lock out that began late last December.
President of CUPE Local 2049 Debbie Hill says she is hoping tomorrow will be the day both sides can reach an agreement.
The last meeting between both sides took place on February 12. Both sides expressed disappointment in the other’s unwillingness to negotiate.
In the month since the last negotiations CUPE representatives have been to Parry Sound Town Council, and Queen’s Park to talk about the damage the lockout is doing to the vulnerable population that uses their services. Contract talks originally broke down over workload management and sick days.
