Health Centre CEO updates council on successes and plans

The state of health care in our region is looking pretty good.  Last night, West Parry Sound Health Centre CEO Donald Sanderson updated Town council on what has been going on at the hospital over the past year.  Sanderson says despite a zero percent increase in funding from the province over the past couple of years, the Health Centre has been able to provide the community with many programs and services.

He also mentioned some good news the Health Centre received recently from the Wait Times Strategy Office of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

Sanderson told council that the Health Centre will be focusing on palliative care moving forward and shared their role in end of life care.

The Health Centre is currently putting together a strategic plan that will lead them through until 2020 and is asking for the public to add their input.  Your opinions can be considered by writing a letter or email to the Health Centre or by using the Contact Us icon on the Health Centre’s website, www.wpshc.com.
