FONOM happy with Ontario’s Decision to renew rural funding

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities says they’re happy with the province.
Ontario recently announced it would continue funding the Rural Economic Development program
The RED program was set to be suspended and absorbed into the Jobs and Prosperity Fund.
FONOM is happy the government decided against that route – as they were worried that rural centres would lose out to bigger cities for funding.
According to FONOM, RED can create jobs, boost economic growth and attract jobs in rural communities.
