The Festive RIDE program continues into the New Year’s weekend and Almaguin Highlands OPP is prepared.
So far the police service in the area has checked over 500 vehicles at RIDE stops.
During one of these checks, officers also recently charged a driver who had a G1 licence and was not accompanied by an experienced driver.
Another driver was caught on a cell phone and charged with distracted driving.
Police want drivers to know they will be out checking vehicles all weekend for anyone who has decided to get behind the wheel after drinking at a holiday party.
