You can do your part to help curb climate change this month. Earth Hour will be held on March 29th this year and residents and businesses of the Town of Parry Sound are encouraged to take part by turning off your lights for one hour beginning at 8:30pm. The Town also encourages those who are going to participate to register their involvement at www.earthhour.org. Earth Hour began in Sydney Australia in 2007 when 2.2 million people and 2100 Sydney businesses turned off their lights for one hour, reducing Sydney’s energy consumption by 10.2% for one hour, which is equivalent effect of taking 48,000 cars off the road for one hour.
