Dangerous sex offender from Orillia sentenced to indefinite jail time
An Orillia man who has been labelled a dangerous offender by the court has been sentenced to indefinite incarceration for his sex crimes.
Twenty-five-year-old Shayne Lund was sentenced this afternoon in Barrie after he pleaded guilty to 34 charges including sexual assault and possession of child pornography.
Lund’s sex crimes involved over a dozen children that were as young as two-years-old.
The crimes were committed in Orillia, Penetanguishene and Waterloo.
Avery Taylor and Kathryn Thompson, who both dated Lund, pleaded guilty to similar charges and were both handed jail time sentences.
Lund’s sentencing will be reviewed in four years by the Parole Board of Canada.
