Residents and cottagers of West Parry Sound came through in a huge way yesterday in support of our local hospital. Moose FM staged its 7th annual Radiothon for the West Parry Sound Health Centre with the goal of raising enough money to supply the Hospital’s Cancer Unit with three life signs monitors, a goal of around $22,000. However once the total was tallied at the end of the 12 hour event, West Parry Sound residents and cottagers had raised $35,190. Thanks to a generous donation made recently to the Hospital Foundation’s “Northern Angel Council” by the family of Walling and Julia Ruby, those funds raised yesterday will be matched dollar for dollar.
