The Team Spirit Award has been given to Almaguin Highlands OPP for their fundraising event with local organizations. The police detachment was awarded for their fundraising efforts with the Sudbury and Nipissing District United Way. For four years, the police detachment organizes a charity hockey game with students in grades seven and eight. They have worked closely with the Near North District School Board and the Armour, Ryerson and Burk’s Falls Memorial arena to make the event a growing success. They would like to thank all schools and council members involved in making the event a success.
