Two people from Magnetawan charged after vehicle rolled on Ahmic Lake Road

A single vehicle crash on Ahmic Lake Road has led to criminal charges for two Magnetawan residents.  Almaguin Highlands OPP, Magnetawan Fire Department, and Parry Sound EMS were all called to the scene on June 29th at around 1:15am.  When police arrived, a man was trying to get the vehicle out from an embankment after the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle into the ditch, striking a tree.  Three of the five people in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries while one was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  An investigation of the crash led to a 17-year-old from the Municipality of Magnetawan being charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, novice driver with alcohol in his system, and drinking under age.  Police also charged a 44-year-old man from the Municipality of Magnetawan with obstructing police, operating an unsafe vehicle, and allowing a novice driver to drive after dark.  Both accused will face their charges in a Sundridge court on August 27th.
