FONOM happy with government delaying change to forestry

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM)  says its happy with the government’s decision to delay proposed changes to forestry and endangered species policy.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry was looking into posting a species at risk guide for the 28 species in the Environmental registry. According to FONOM this guide takes a species first approach and could have damaged the forestry industry in Northern Ontario.

The announcement was made that the Species at risk guide would be postponed at AMO.
