Setting off fireworks in Seguin during a fire ban could soon cost you

Seguin is looking into a by-law to prohibit fireworks during an Extreme Fire Danger Rating.  Councillor Mario Buszynski brought up the idea after many complaints from residents that fireworks were being set off when there is a fire ban.  Fire Chief Don Hood told council that he supports a by-law, but let them know that there may not be many charges as it would be hard to catch people in the act of setting off fireworks because they don’t last long.  Council directed staff to draft a by-law to regulate fireworks in the township and bring it back for approval.
